From 2006 to 2012 we had a stage at Moseley Folk Festival. Good times. We’d bring underground, under the radar acts to our corner of the festival, as well as stand-out performers who we’d put on at our shows in pubs around Birmingham. 2011 was a particularly good year. We rounded up the very best in songwriters and bands who were at the very top of their game.
Rich McMahon entertained the crowd with off-the-scale levels of charisma. Our Ben Calvert played it along with his old label mate Richard Burke. Mr Plow played his rendition of Nick Cave’s Into My Arms and there was barely a dry eye in the house. A certain John J Presley is now enjoying some major label action.
Will we be invited back? Fingers crossed. We’re rubbing a lucky rabbit’s foot.
